Joint Program: The Evaluators' Institute
and the CEC-NCC

In October, 2008, The Evaluators' Institute and the CES-NCC are collaborating to bring to Canadian evaluators a program of six courses on program evaluation topics.

After September 5, 2008, anyone from anywhere may register to attend the classes. Prior to September 5, first priority will be given to Canadians.

If you are from Canada and want to come, send e-mail to hold your space and then follow directions below for registering. E-mail: Registrar@EvaluatorsInstitute.com

If you are NOT from Canada and want to come, you can send e-mail and request space to be held for you, pending availability. Follow directions below for registering…note: we cannot confirm space for you until after Sept. 5.

Following is a chart showing which courses are offered on which days and details on how to register…and more. Click on course titles to access descriptions of courses and short biographical information on the teachers.

Quotes from 2008 participants

“This was the first time I took a course through TEI, and for once I haven't wasted my time (i.e., I actually learned things).”

“Another fine example of the high caliber of instructor at TEI. Dr. “X” was clear, logical, presented well, plethora of useful and relevant examples and great humor.”

TEI / GWU Certificates for Professional Evaluators

. . .curricula designed with the input and support of highly respected, senior level, and well-known evaluation practitioner/scholars with demonstrated excellence in conducting evaluation research and instructing others on evaluation; representing 16 institutions/organizations from three countries. Three course-based certificates and one—the Master Evaluator Certificate—requiring demonstration of evaluation performance capability. All Certificates carry the names and backing of both The Evaluators' Institute and The George Washington University.

All classes have take-home support materials. Textbooks are provided for most courses--where the books have current information and specifically apply to the content and philosophy of the subject matter as presented by the instructor. Where an appropriate text is not available, a syllabus is prepared by the instructor with supporting readings and, in most cases, copies of visuals used in class. Only one copy of the same text is given to any one individual.

Faculty

TEI has a stable and select group of faculty. They are senior-level, highly acclaimed, and much sought after evaluation scholars/ teachers/practitioners with demonstrated excellence in conducting evaluation research and instructing others on evaluation methods. The 2007 faculty represent 20 universities/ organizations from four countries and 11 states plus the District of Columbia . Such diversity contributes to participants' understanding of similarities and differences in evaluation from one subject area or profession to another.
